For the next edition of the Münster Lectures, !Mediengruppe Bitnik will be joining the programme on Tuesday, 10 November 2026. The artist duo will give a lecture at 6 pm in the lecture hall at Leonardo-Campus 2, 48149 Münster. The event is presented by Skulptur Projekte Münster 2027 as part of its public programme leading up to the exhibition.

!Mediengruppe Bitnik is a contemporary artist duo working on and with the internet. Their practice moves between digital and physical spaces, often deliberately embracing a loss of control in order to question established structures and mechanisms.

In their work, !Mediengruppe Bitnik have hacked surveillance cameras, tapped into an opera house and broadcast its performances to the outside world, sent a package containing a camera to Julian Assange at the Ecuadorian Embassy in London, and manipulated a building through a physical glitch. In 2014, they sent the bot Random Darknet Shopper on a three-month shopping trip through the darknets. The bot randomly purchased items including keys, cigarettes, trainers and ecstasy, and had the goods delivered directly to the gallery.

Currently, !Mediengruppe Bitnik are curating the artistic research project School of Cow Comfort, which explores how data-driven technologies operate in the agricultural sector.

The event is part of the public programme Skulptur Projekte Sessions, which accompanies the lead-up to the exhibition Skulptur Projekte Münster 2027.
